Kolade, a veteran broadcaster, corporate leader and diplomat, was born in Erin-Oke, Osun State, in 1932. A product of Government College, Ibadan, and Fourah Bay College, Freetown, Sierra Leone, he carved a remarkable career path that spanned broadcasting, business leadership, and public service.
He served as Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), where he left a legacy of professionalism and ethical standards in media practice. Kolade later became the Chief Executive and Chairman of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth and reputation.
His distinguished career extended to diplomacy, as he was appointed Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Fondly referred to as a man of integrity and principle, Kolade was a moral voice in national discourse, known for his forthrightness and commitment to good governance.
