Alleged N8.7b Fraud: Court Grants Malami N500m Bai
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and two others, bail in the sum of #500 Million each, with two sureties.
Justice Emeka Nwite ordered the release of the defendants while delivering ruling in their bail applications.
The judge ordered that the sureties must have a landed property in Maitama, Asokoro or Gwarimpe in Abuja.
Justice Nwite also added that the defendants must submit their travelling documents to the court registrar.
The case has been adjourned to the 17th of February, for trial.
Malami, his son and one Hajia Bashir Asabe, a staff of Ramadiya Property Limited are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC for alleged money laundering.
