Billboard Names 2Face’s “African Queen” Greatest Afrobeats Song of All Time

American music magazine Billboard has unveiled its list of the Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All Time.

At the top of the chart is 2Face Idibia’s iconic and controversial hit African Queen, which clinched the number one spot.

Afrobeats superstar Wizkid is the only artist with two entries in the top ten, with Ojuelegba ranked second and Essence featuring Tems placed fifth.

Flavour’s Nwa Baby (Ashawo Remix) secured third place, while Rema’s global smash Calm Down took the fourth position.

Other songs in the top ten include CKay’s Love Nwantiti, D’banj’s Oliver Twist, Davido’s Fall, Burna Boy’s Ye, and *P Square’s Chop My Money Remix featuring Akon.

Despite Nigerian artists dominating the chart, Ghanaian stars also earned recognition as Fuse ODG’s Azonto featuring Itz Tiffany and Sarkodie’s Adonai featuring Castro ranked 18th and 19th respectively.

Among the classics, Styl Plus’ evergreen hit Olufunmi sits at number 11, while 9ice’s Gongo Aso is ranked 12th. Do Me by P Square and Dami Duro by Davido follow at 13 and 14.

Yemi Alade is the highest-ranked female artist on the list, with her breakout hit Johnny placed at number 15.

The top 20 is rounded off with Wande Coal’s Bumper to Bumper at 17 and Phyno’s Fada Fada featuring Olamide at number 20.
