The date for the seventh edition of popular reality TV show, Big Brother Naija has been announced by organisers of the television series.

According to them, July 23 and 24, 2022 are the dates which BBNaija season 7 will be launched, while the programme premiere of is scheduled to be aired on DSTV channel 198 and GOTV channel 29 by 7:00pm on both days.

BBNaija, the biggest reality TV show in Africa, commenced a call for application Season 7 on May 15, 2022.

Going memory lane, the most popular reality show in the country has achieved the feat of giving many contestants a platform to become celebrities.

Recently, Whitemoney, a contestant whose identity was not known, became a celebrity overnight after winning the last edition in 2021 with N90m worth of prizes.

In 2006 a scriptwriter and production assistant, Katung Aduwak, went home with the grand prize of $100,000, after winning the first season of the reality show.

In 2017, Warri, Delta State-born rapper, Efe Ejeba, who won the grand prize of N25m in the second season (see Gobe) which had a gap of 11 years before of the show commenced on January 22.

In 2018, a pilot, Miracle Igbokwe, won the third season also known as “Double Wahala” and went home with N25m, a brand-new Hyundai Tuscon SUV, home appliances worth N3m and a trip for two to an exotic location, as well as a year’s supply of Pepsi and Aquafina water.

A video vixen and entrepreneur, Mercy Eke, won the 2019 season, the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition with a cash prize of N30m, an Innoson SUV said to be worth N25m, a trip to Dubai and other prizes.

Interestingly, rapper and graduate of the University of Lagos, Olamilekan Agbeleshe, also known as Laycon, grabbed N30m, an Innoson Motors SUV worth N30m, a two-bedroom apartment, a trip to Dublin, Ireland, and other prizes, in the fifth season of the show which was held in 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was also called the ‘Lockdown Edition’.
