The first on-camera statement of rapper and producer, Travis Scott concerning the death of eight people on Friday, in the Astroworld Festival in Houston has been released a video posted to his Instagram account Saturday night.
In the words of Scott, “I’m honestly just devastated,” “We’re actually working right now to identify the families so we can help assist them through this tough time.”
As the organiser of the award, Scott has not only reacted positively to the development, but has also expressed concern concerning the incident.
His reaction came after some concertgoers criticized organizers for continuing the show even as unresponsive people were being given CPR and carried away.
While speaking, he indicated he was not aware of how severe things had gotten but went ahead to commiserate with families of the victims, with a tweet on Sunday.
Scott, a native of Houston tweeted, “My prayers go out to the families and all those impacted by what happened at Astroworld Festival.”
“Any time I could make out, you know, anything that’s going on, you know, I just stopped my show and, you know, helped them get the help they need,” he said.
The situation which triggered gestures from the music star also made him look on in confusion as an ambulance pulled into the crowd before finishing the concert. This was revealed in a Video from the concert’s live stream.
So far, several findings have been made to unravel the cause of the deaths, but none has not been determined. Moreover, officials have not released the identities of the victims.
On his feat so far, when it comes to impacting the people, Scott has delved into multiple philanthropic projects in the community with the aim of making available resources to city youth.
