Death toll at the Astroworld Festival has increased to 10 on Sunday, after the passing on of a 9-year-old boy identified as Ezra Blount who was injured at event.

This development was revealed by the family attorney Ben Crump.

In reaction to the troublesome situation, a handful of lawsuits have been filed over the tragedy from the concert, while funeral services for some of the victims began over the weekend.

According to a statement from Crump, Blount, had been in a medically induced coma in an attempt to overcome brain, liver and kidney trauma.

The statement from Crump read, “The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra’s death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight, we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer.”

On the reason the young boy attended the concert, Bernon Blount while speaking to CNN said, his grandson was in Houston to see “his favorite artist” and attended the concert with his father, Treston Blount.

During the event, the appearance of rapper and headliner Travis Scott triggered the terrible situation that led to a huge crowd moving toward an outdoor stage, after they have started performing. They were crushed, trampled, and struggled to breath.
