Amusan Wins Gyulai Istan Memorial Women’s 100m Hurdles

World and Commonwealth Games champion Tobi Amusan on Tuesday raced to a second consecutive victory in two days, clocking 12.35secs (-0.5) in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Gyulai István Memorial meet in Hungary, reports.

With just over a month until the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the Nigerian beat the United States of America duo of Nia Ali who came in 2nd in 12.41secs and Lay-Lay Johnson to 3rd 12.50secs.

Recall at Sunday’s Diamond League meeting in Silesia, the world record-holder set a season’s best of 12.34 to pip USA’s Kendra Harrison and Nia Ali.

The Gyulai Istvan Memorial – the penultimate Gold meeting in this season’s World Athletics Continental Tour Gold.

Meanwhile, world silver medallist Ese Brume put up a decent jumping series at Gyulai István Memorial, finishing 2nd in women’s Long Jump with a mark of 6.69m. Serbia’s Milica Gardašević won the event with 6.80m
