Ivory Coast have lost to Egypt 5-4 on penalties at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon on Wednesday.
The result follows a 0- 0 draw which both teams played within 90 mins added and extra time, taking the Pharoahs are through the quarter-finals.
The shoot out got interesting in the third round of spot-kicks when the North Africans got the upper hand in the shoot-out after substitute keeper Gabaski saved Eric Bailly’s effort.
Seven-time champions, Egypt scaled through after captain Mohamed Salah netted the decisive penalty.
Morocco will be against Egypt in the last eight in Yaounde on Sunday (16:00 GMT).
The finale was somewhat harsh on
Bailly’s performance was at the back was fantastic, despite his return from a head injury. But all his efforts were crowned with a miss from the penalty spot as Zamalek keeper, Gabaski dived to his right and stuck out his left hand to push the ball onto the bar.
