Ghana and Gabon have both ended their Africa Cup of Nations Group C match in a 1-1 draw.

In the interesting match, Gabonese were almost beaten with a goal but scored a controversial late goal.

Apart from the fantastic performance of the team, Gabon achieved the feat coming close to the last 16 without captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Ghanaians were the first to register their name on the score sheet after Andre Ayew opened scoring in the 18th minute,

Gabon’s resilience in the game, paid off in the 88th-minute when Jim Allevinah’s equalizer canceled Ayew’s first half efforts, making the score line 1-1.

The controversial moment came when Daniel-Kofi Kyere went down following a challenge inside the Gabon half but, from the resulting throw-in, Guelor Kanga played the ball to Allevinah, who struck a low left-footed shot across Jojo Wollacott and into the bottom right-hand corner.

Unfortunately, for Ghana, scuffles broke out when Gabon celebrated at full-time, after Ayew protested to referee Lahlou Benbraham about the goal to no avail

A red card was given to Ghana substitute Benjamin Tetteh after the final whistle for his part in the on-pitch melee.
