ADELEKE DUMPS PDP, JOINS ACCORD PARTY AHEAD OF 2026 ELECTION
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has officially defected to the Accord Party barely 24 hours before the party’s gubernatorial primaries.
Adeleke had earlier resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a letter dated November 4, 2025, citing the deepening national crisis within the party.
Announcing his decision today at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Government House Banquet Hall in Osogbo, the state capital, the governor revealed that he had formally joined the Accord Party on November 6 — over a month ago — after extensive consultations with stakeholders and opinion leaders.
Adeleke explained that his move to the Accord Party provides a stable platform for his re-election bid in 2026. He emphasized his continued commitment to the welfare of Osun workers and citizens, noting that his administration has implemented policies and programmes aimed at improving the well-being of the people.
