2026 WCQ: Chelle Drills 22 Super Eagles For Rwanda

The Super Eagles held their first training session in Kigali under the scrutiny of new manager Eric Chelle in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying Group C match against Rwanda’s Amavubi on Friday.

The former Mali coach and his assistants began their work on Tuesday, putting Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, captain William Troost-Ekong, and 16 other Super Eagles stars through their paces in a light training session.

Meanwhile, the trio of Super Eagles goalkeepers—Stanley Nwabali, Amas Obasogie, and Kayode Bankole—trained separately with the goalkeeper coach.

The training session lasted two hours, after which the Super Eagles contingent returned to their camp at the Radisson Blu Hotel to refresh.

They are now awaiting the arrival of Alhassan Yusuf, who is travelling from the United States.

The Super Eagles are under increasing pressure as they approach these crucial qualifiers, having gone winless in their last four matches and currently sitting in fifth place with just three points.
