Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide and prominent Nigerian politician, has reportedly passed away at the age of 72.
Okupe was said to have died on Friday morning after battling a prolonged illness, suspected to be cancer.
In 2022, he was appointed as the Director-General of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign for the 2023 election but later stepped down following a court conviction related to money laundering allegations.
Sources close to the family confirmed that he had been critically ill in the weeks leading up to his passing.
