HIV Treatment Expansion: FEC Approves $1.07bn For Health Sector

The federal executive council has approved $1.07 billion for healthcare reforms under the hope programme and allocated N4.8bn for HIV treatment, marking a significant investment in Nigeria’s health sector.

The minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun announced that the World Bank’s international development association has awarded two concessional loans of $500 million each, along with an additional $70 million in grants from other international organizations.

The coordinating minister of health and social welfare, Muhammad Ali Pate clarified that this funding supports the hope programme, which aligns with the administration’s goal of strengthening human capital development.
