St. Gregory College Old Students Flag Off Second Phase of Solar Power Project

The 1974 to 1979 set of St. Gregory College Lagos has officially launched the second phase of their renewable energy project to their Alma Mater

The Chairman of the set,Ivor Ekpe who highlighted the significance of a shift from electricity to solar power says the project is a testament of its commitment to encourage the use of renewable energy and ultimately improve the standard of its Alma Mater.

It’s been more than four decades since these old students graduated from St.Greg as it’s fondly called..

The last time they gathered like this was in 2023 to commission and handover solar panels to further improve power situation in the school and its environs…

About a year after, these students are here again to handover the second phase of their renewable energy project.

Nigeria’s power situation has led many seeking alternatives..either due to the cost, or the lack of it…

Ekpe believes an alternative in solar has a better advantage including affordability while also creating a more environmentally friendly atmosphere for students, businesses and homes.

The alumni also handed over N18 million to the institution as part of its corporate social responsibility..reinforcing their commitment to making a lasting impact on the school.
