As Delta State joins the rest of the world to mark 2024 food day,Homestead farming has been advocated.
The Homestead System farming came to the fore at Cenotaph,in Asaba the venue of the World food day event in the Delta state.
With the level of hunger and the high cost of foodstuffs in the country as a result of removal of fuel subsidy,farming within the compounds has been echoed as one of the ways of ensuring food security in the country.
This they say will also solve to some extent the challenges of insecurity farmers face in the farms.
The Respondents believe that food security is a collective responsibility of the people and government hence the need to be determined to make food available..
