Ejuke, Iheanacho, Missing As Super Eagles Hold First Training

The trio of Kelechi Iheanacho, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Chidera Ejuke were missing as Super Eagles held their first training session today at the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo.

Twenty players were available for Tuesday’s training with interim coach, Austin Eguavoen and the backroom staff leading the session.

The players in attendance include; Ballon d’Or nominee, Ademola Lookman, Taiwo Awoniyi, William Troos Ekong, Amas Obasogie, Stanley Nwabali, Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze, Benjamin Taminu, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Bruno Onyemaechi, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Alhassan Yusuf, Maduka Okoye, and Ola Aina. The 2023 AFCON runners-up is preparing for the 2025 African Nations Cup double header against Libya with the first leg in Nigeria on Friday while the second leg holds next Tuesday in Benghazi, Libya.

The 2013 AFCON Champions have made strong start in the campaign topping the table with four point in two games. The Eguavoen led team will aim to build on their recent performance and secure vital points against Libya.
