South African model, Miss Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, is ready to contest for the crown at the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 after arriving Nigeria and visiting the Silverbird Galleria Lagos, on Wednesday, 21 August, 2024.
Miss Adetshina’s beauty contest journey has started with a bold step of accepting an invitation from the organisers of the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria pageant when she was withdrawn from the Miss South Africa 2024 competition amidst controversies surrounding her South African citizenship claims and Nigerian heritage.
After through investiagtion, it was discovered that Miss Adetshina was born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and a Mozambique mother.
Adetshina who is currently contesting as Miss Taraba in the prestigious beauty pageant has shown her readiness to contest and win the crown.

During her visit she met with the National Director of Miss Universe, Guy Murray-Bruce, the Brand Manager of Silverbird Group and other management staff.
Adetshina’s interest to contest in the 2024 edition of Miss Universe Nigeria comes after she accepted an invitation which was extended to her by organisers of the pageant to participate in the pageant.
After her withdrawal went viral, which also prompted her to quit from the competition, the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant made a historic decision by officially inviting Ms Adetshina to participate in the upcoming Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 competition.

Interestingly, she accepted and honoured the invitation which was extended to her through a Press Release which was sent to her by the organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria to participate in the 2024 edition of the prestigious pageant.
The invitation was revealed in a Press Statement from the National Director of Miss Universe, Guy Murray-Bruce.
Miss Adetshina is also a model, has returned to her father land to contest as Miss Taraba in the prestigious beauty pageant.
