Super Eagles player, Paul Onuachu has replaced striker, Sadiq Umar, who has been ruled out of the 2023 African Cup of Nations due to a knee injury he sustained in Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat to the Syli Stars of Guinea on Monday.
In response to the situation, it was announced in a statement posted on X by the official Super Eagles account, on Friday that Paul Onuachu will replace 26-year-old Umar.
Interestingly, Onuachu 29, has nine goals and three assists in 15 games for Trabzonspor this season.
This is coming after striker Victor Boniface was ruled out of the competition which is scheduled to start tomorrow, January 13 in Ivory Coast.
