W’Cup Qualifier: Super Eagles Settle For Draw Against Zimbabwe

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have settled for another 1-1 draw against the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Hure Stadium in Bature, Rwanda on Sunday afternoon.

This development comes after the Eagles played a  disappointing draw with Lesotho in Uyo on Thursday. The result has also make them lose the opportunity to close the gap on group leaders South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Bafana Bafana on their side did well to beat Benin Republic in their group opener on Saturday in Pretoria.

The Eagles looked hapless again in search of an equaliser,  as the goal capped an impressive defensive display from the Warriors.

Thanks to the Eagles captain, Kelechi Iheanacho whose effort in the 67th minute gave Nigeria a goal, a beautiful pass from Joe Aribor to Moses Simon who laid it for the Leicester forward to score.

Currently on the table, Nigeria is a point behind South Africa while Zimbabwe stay in third, despite the draw.

Peseiro’s men remain second in Group C of the World Cup qualifying series.
