The protest which was been planned by some Nollywood actors and fans in honour of the late former Marlian signee and musical artist, Mohbad, has been cancelled.
Sources revealed that the cancellation was a request from the Lagos State government, due to concerns over safety.
According to the government, another major reason for the cancellation is that the protest could be hijacked by hoodlums.
Before the cancellation which came late, there was a schedule for the protest to hold on Wednesday, from Oba Akran Road in Ikeja to the Governor’s office in Alausa.
Meanwhile, a candlelight parade and tribute performance have been scheduled for Thursday, September 21, 2023, to honour the young talent.
The procession will begin at the Lekki Phase 1 gate and will end at Muri Okunola Park VI, where the tribute concert will be held on Thursday.
Other cities in Nigeria which protest have been held since the mysterious demise of the artiste are: Ibadan, Akure, Abeokuta, Kogi and others.
For the Lagos protest, the dress code for attendees is white.
