Two persons have been hospitalised after a building with over 500 rooms partially collapsed on Sunday located at Agboyi Estate on Oduntan Street Ketu, Lagos State.
The accident happened in the building housing hundreds of residents, hours after rainfall affected most parts of Lagos Punch Metro reports.
On Sunday afternoon, as residents were still trying to salvage their belongings, the building crumbled again, destroying another structure inside the compound before collapsing completely.
Most families and individuals residing in the building decided to vacate the premises, considering the panic across the area.
More of the residents were noticed moving out their belongings in different directions as officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency cordoned off the premises during a visit to the affected building on Sunday.
The affected compound housing several defective buildings has been marked for demolition by officials of the Lagos State Government.
