Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, will travel with the Turkish giants for the crucial UEFA Champions League knockout play-off second leg against Juventus, despite missing their last league game against Konyaspor with a knee problem.
Osimhen was absent from their matchday squad on Saturday as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at Konyaspor.
The 27-year-old, who was electric in Galatasaray’s 5-2 win over Juventus in the first leg, providing two assists, was a late withdrawal from the travelling squad to Konyaspor after reporting continued pain in his right knee.
The club described the decision as precautionary, a calculated risk designed to protect their most important player for Wednesday’s second leg in Turin.
After Saturday’s defeat, he is set to return to the squad on Wednesday as they aim to progress in the Champions League.
Osimhen has continued his impressive run at Galatasaray this season with 15 goals and five assists across the Super Lig and Champions League and he is attracting interest from the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, who are keen on acquiring his services.
German giants Bayern Munich and Italian heavyweights Juventus are also heavily in the hunt for his signature.
