Silverbird Television on Wednesday, May 17 won ‘Presenter of The Year’ and ‘Best Television Show (Indigenous)’ Awards at the just concluded Nigeria Broadcasting Awards ceremony which took place at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Prior to the awards ceremony, Silverbird Television received a letter of nomination in different categories from The Nigeria Broadcasting Awards, on May 9, 2023. The Letter was titled: INVITATION OF AWARD NOMINEES TO THE NIGERIA BROADCASTING AWARDS CEREMONY.
The letter which requested STV to be adequately represented at the event had in it the various categories which the television station, station’s programme/individuals were nominated.
Silverbird TV was nominated in the Organisational, Programme Nominees and Individual Nominees categories, but won Best Television Show (Indigenous) Jankara Market and Presenter of The Year (Victory Wilson) respectively in both categories.
The nomination was announced by the Judges’ committee after the first stage of the selection process carried out through the entries submitted by each station.
The Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria at its 76th General Assembly approved the institution of annual awards to recognise, celebrate and reward professional excellence in the country’s broadcasting industry.
