GUNMEN ABDUCT FORMER OGUN LAWMAKER HON. Morse MUSA FROM MOSQUE IN IBIade
Armed gunmen have abducted former Ogun State House of Assembly member, Hon. Moruf Musa, in a daring attack on Tuesday evening at approximately 7pm in Ibiade, Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.
Reports indicate the incident occurred while the former lawmaker was observing evening prayers inside a mosque located within his residential compound. Witnesses say Musa struggled with the abductors for over 20 minutes before the gunmen fired sporadic shots into the air to scare away residents and fled with him to an unknown location.
Hon. Musa, a hotelier who previously served as Chief Whip and represented Ogun Waterside constituency, is also the Coordinator of the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Movement, supporting the 2027 senatorial ambition of Senator Gbenga Daniel.
The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the abduction and assured the public that security measures, including the deployment of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, have been activated for his swift rescue.
Authorities are combing nearby bushes in a joint operation, and residents have been urged to remain calm while providing any useful information to security agencies.
This incident highlights growing concerns over insecurity in parts of Ogun State.
