Matchroom Boxing Chairman, Eddie Hearn, has said British-Nigerian heavyweight Anthony Joshua will have no choice but to retire if he loses to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in their upcoming fight.
Joshua is scheduled to face Paul on December 19 at the Kaseya Centre in Miami in a bout widely seen as a must-win for the former two-time unified heavyweight champion.
Hearn, speaking ahead of the matchup, admitted that the stakes are unusually high for Joshua, noting that defeat to Paul would be career-ending.
According to him, Joshua “must demolish” Paul to reinforce his status in the heavyweight division, adding that a loss would likely force both fighters into retirement.
The highly publicised showdown has already generated global attention, with analysts describing it as one of the most high-pressure fights of Joshua’s career.
