PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu
– The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Minister of Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and former PDP Secretary Samuel Anyanwu.
The expulsion motion was moved by Chief Olabode George and seconded by Hon Samaila Buga, Chairman of PDP Bauchi, during the party’s national convention in Ibadan.
The move follows a bitter internal conflict, with Wike’s faction attempting to halt the convention through court action. Despite this, the PDP secured a judgment allowing the convention to proceed.
Wike’s faction had dismissed the convention as a “nullity” and a “jamboree”, urging supporters to boycott.
The expulsion highlights the deepening rift within the PDP, with implications for the party’s future and Nigeria’s political landscape.
