PDP CONVENTION: PARTY LEADERS EXPRESS OPTIMISM AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it remains confident about its prospects in the 2027 general elections despite ongoing internal disputes and several court cases affecting its leadership structure.
This position was reiterated on Saturday at the party’s National Convention held at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Addressing delegates, party leaders said the PDP remains united and focused on returning to power, insisting that disagreements within the party would not derail its broader objective of offering what they described as a more responsive alternative for Nigerians.
They also took a swipe at members who defected, accusing them of placing personal ambitions above national interest. According to the leaders, the party will continue to reposition itself and reconcile aggrieved stakeholders ahead of the 2027 polls.
