Tinubu Vows to Defeat Terrorism, Boosts Global Diplomatic Tie
President Bola Tinubu on Thursday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism and strengthening diplomatic engagement with global partners, assuring Nigerians of the country’s unity and resolute pursuit of peace.
Speaking during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu emphasized that his government is actively engaging the international community to advance security, stability, and economic growth.
“We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all of you that we will defeat terrorism,” the President declared.
His declaration comes shortly after the Federal Government challenged the designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) by President Donald Trump, describing it as a misrepresentation of the nation’s security status.
President Tinubu also used the address to commend his cabinet for their commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, stressing the need for collective focus in implementing government reforms.
He highlighted positive economic indicators as a sign of international confidence, noting, “Despite political headwinds and fears, we will continue to engage with our partners. The success of the $2.3 billion Eurobond, which was oversubscribed, is a sign of confidence in our economy. The task ahead is immense, but we are resolved to move forward with unity and purpose.”
The President concluded by reiterating his administration’s dedication to building a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria, anchored on principles of transparency, diplomacy, and national security.
