Ladoja Decorated with Akoko Leaves as 44th Olubadan

Oba Rashidi Ladoja has been decorated with Akoko leaves as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland at the Labosinde Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan, by the Oluwo Afobaje Labosinde.

The decoration with Akoko leaves is in line with the chieftaincy tradition of Ibadanland, which was preceded by the traditional opening of a calabash.

Oba Ladoja later moved to the Osemeji shrine, directly opposite Labosinde Compound, for further traditional rites.

Ladoja arrived at Labosinde Compound in a white limousine, accompanied by members of the Olubadan-in-Council, Ibadan warlords, Oloroso, and immediate and extended members of his family.

Oba Ladoja was confirmed as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland following nomination by the Olubadan-in-Council at its meeting held at the new Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan on Monday, August 4.
