Grammys Recording Academy:
Davido becomes voting member
Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly as ‘Davido’ has been named as one of the latest member of the Recording Academy.
For Davido, his admission into the Recording Academy Ahead of the 2026 Grammys is “a gamechanger.”
As a voting member, Davido will participate in the decision-making process of the Grammy awards.
In a video broadcast, the music star says the ability to vote empowers him to have a say in what is considered and voted on in each season
He further says he is honoured to join the prestigious Recording Academy and looks forward to voting.
In 2024, Davido earned his first three Grammy nominations but lost in all the categories.
His fourth Grammy nomination came through his collaboration with Chris Brown and Lojay, for the song ‘Sensational’, which was nominated for the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammys but lost to Tems’ ‘Love Me Jeje.’
