Police Investigate Two Bodies Found in Lagos Canal
The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the deaths of two young men whose bodies were found in a canal along LASU-Igando Road in the Iba area. The discovery was made early Tuesday morning.
The victims were found with their hands bound behind their backs and blue trash bags tightly knotted around their necks, raising suspicions of torture and suffocation before being dumped in the canal.
A local lawyer, who requested anonymity due to the case’s sensitivity, suggested the killings may have ritualistic elements. “I passed by the bridge on Tuesday and saw residents gathered,” the lawyer said. “The bodies were unusually clean, indicating they were likely killed elsewhere and dumped here.”
