Silverbird Unveils “Best of Boxing”

Silverbird Television has announced the debut of a new boxing programme, which will air every Friday at 11 p.m.

Tagged “Best of Boxing” and in collaboration with the Balmoral as producer the show comes up on Silverbird Television every Friday at 11pm.

The announcement was made in a promotional montage released by the management and obtained by our correspondent.

The Balmoral Group is a Nigerian events, hospitality, and entertainment company known for organizing and producing large-scale lifestyle and corporate events.

Some of its core activities is to produce concerts, boxing shows, and cultural festivals. It also manages large-scale events at venues such as Federal Palace Hotel and Balmoral Hall, Lagos.

Balmoral is also widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading event production companies, with a focus on combining African creativity and international-standard execution.

According to the station, the partnership with Balmoral as producer will enable it to feature both local and international boxing matches, with the goal of rekindling public interest in the sport and celebrating Nigeria’s rich boxing heritage.

Recall that Balmoral has been in the business of promoting boxing since 2024 with the “Chaos in the Ring” , a multi-country boxing event with African title bouts.

Another of its events was the Friday Fight Night Monthly boxing series spotlighting Nigerian boxers and the Chaotic Boxing Showdown in 2025.

It hosted the International fighters, WBO finals and celebrity match and organised officials’ training programme to enhance boxing officiating capacity training.

Nigeria has a proud history in boxing, having produced world champions such as Dick Tiger and Hogan Bassey.

Today, a new generation of fighters with Nigerian roots including Anthony Joshua, Efe Ajagba, Lawrence Okolie, and rising heavyweight Moses Itauma continue to make global impact alongside stars like Deontay Wilder, Joe Joyce, and Daniel Dubois.

Silverbird TV said the new programme will not only spotlight international bouts but also create a platform to showcase emerging local talents and inspire a new wave of interest in the sport across the country.
