ACCOMPLISHED MISSION X:- Presidential Reception for Super Falcons set for Monday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to host Nigeria’s triumphant Super Falcons at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, July 28, 2025, following their remarkable victory at the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Nigerian women’s national football team staged a dramatic comeback on Saturday night, overcoming a two-goal deficit to defeat host nation Morocco 3–2 in a thrilling final. The win secured Nigeria’s record-extending 10th WAFCON title.

Moments after the final whistle, President Tinubu congratulated the players via a call to the dressing room, where he commended their resilience and pledged to welcome them personally upon their return to Nigeria.

A senior official from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), who requested anonymity, confirmed that arrangements are underway to ensure the team returns in time for the presidential reception.
The Super Falcons also swept individual honors at the tournament.

Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade was named Most Valuable Player, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie won Best Goalkeeper, and Head Coach Justin Madugu was awarded Coach of the Tournament. The victory meant NFF will receive N1.5 Billion Prize Money from Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The Super Falcons’ victory further solidifies Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football and comes as a moment of national pride, with celebrations ongoing across the country.
