BREAKING: Wrestling Icon Hulk Hogan Dies at 71
Professional wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, has died at the age of 71, his representative has confirmed.
Hogan, who made his wrestling debut in 1977, rose to global superstardom during the 1980s and 1990s, becoming the most recognisable face of professional wrestling during its golden era. Known for his signature red-and-yellow ring gear, blonde handlebar mustache, and “Real American” theme music, Hogan captivated audiences worldwide and cultivated a fanbase known as the “Hulkamaniacs.”
The iconic wrestler played a key role in popularising WWE (then WWF), headlining multiple WrestleMania events and crossing over into mainstream entertainment with appearances in films, television, and commercials.
Throughout his decades-long career, Hogan embodied the spirit of larger-than-life showmanship. His famous catchphrases — “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?” — became part of wrestling folklore.
Though he formally retired from in-ring action, Hogan continued making appearances into his 50s and remained a central figure in wrestling culture.
Tributes have begun pouring in from fans, fellow wrestlers, and entertainers around the world, remembering him not only as a wrestling icon but as a pioneer who helped turn wrestling into a global entertainment phenomenon.
Details on the cause of death have not been released as of press time.
