Arsenal on Wednesday lost to Manchester City 4-1 at the Etihad making the chances of the Gunners to win English Premier League slimmer.
The win for City became a reminder to Arsenal that they are not only in contention but ready to retain the title in the highly competitive league.
One of the interesting highlights in the match was four minutes in when Thomas Partey and Kevin de Bruyne collided six yards out. With so much determination, there was a strong appeal for a penalty, but it was turned down.
City’s Erling Haaland and De Bruyne displayed class with their touch as they were quick to make their pressure count which gave Pep Guardiola’s team a lead.
The score almost doubled midway through the first half, but was stopped by a brilliant block by Ben White 8 yards out to keep the Gunners in the game.
John Stones doubled Manchester City’s lead after VAR overruled the initial offside decision that had ruled it out.
De Bruyne reminded Arsenal that he is still in the game to accomplish his team’s mission of winning the game with another goal in the 54th minute.
John Stones and Haaland completed the goals tally after they shared each goal amongst themselves in the 45+1 minute and 90+5 minutes respectively.
