Super Falcons Schedule Friendlies Against Portugal, Ghana Ahead of WAFCON 2025

As part of their preparations for the upcoming 2025 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Nigeria’s Super Falcons will play two international friendly matches against Portugal and Ghana.

Speaking on the team’s build-up plans, head coach Justine Madugu confirmed that the Nigerian side will take on Portugal on June 23, while a second warm-up game against the Black Queens of Ghana will be played in Morocco shortly before the tournament begins.

The nine-time African champions have already begun their pre-tournament buildup, defeating Cameroon 2-0 earlier this month in a friendly match held in Ogun State.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation, the Super Falcons will set up a training camp in Portugal in the lead-up to the continental tournament.

Nigeria has been drawn into Group B, alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana. The team is scheduled to open its WAFCON 2025 campaign on July 6 against Tunisia in Casablanca.

The Super Falcons are aiming for a record-extending tenth continental title in Morocco, with renewed hopes under Coach Madugu’s leadership.
