Ogun Sanctions Religious Centres, Others For Noise Pollution

The Ogun State Government has sanctioned 175 noise polluters across the state, including religious centres, entertainment houses, and commercial outlets, in a bid to address the growing problem of noise pollution.

The figure was given on Wednesday by the state’s Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Ola Oresanya, while spealing on the activities marking the 2025 International Noise Awareness Day.

According to the commissioner, this year’s theme, “Protect Your Hearing, Protect Your Health,” emphasises the dangers of excessive noise, which not only disrupts the environment but also poses significant health risks.

In his statement, Oresanya highlighted that while communication is important, it should not come at the cost of disturbing the peace of communities.
