Lagos Building Collapse: Two Dead, 22 Rescued

Two persons have been confirmed dead and 22 others rescued after a three-storey building collapsed in Ojodu, Lagos, on Saturday around 8:32am

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, made this known during his visit to the scene of the incident.

Moshood reveals that the owners and managers of the property have been identified for further investigation.

Early responders comprising personnel of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the Police and other sister agencies were on hand to commence immediate rescue operations and also ensure adequate security in the area.

Some residents blame the unfortunate incident on the construction of an additional floor on the building by a contractor.
