22nd National Sports Festival Fallout: FG to Honour Kano’s Fallen Heroes
The Federal Government has announced plans to honour the fallen heroes from Kano State who tragically lost their lives in a recent road accident involving members of the state’s contingent returning from the 2024 National Sports Festival.
The announcement was made during a condolence visit by a high-level delegation from the National Sports Commission (NSC) to the Government and people of Kano State.
During the visit, the NSC expressed deep sympathy over the loss, acknowledging the emotional and economic toll on households, especially those that lost primary breadwinners.
As part of its response, the commission disclosed plans to collaborate with the Kano State Government to establish a relief and welfare support package for the bereaved families.
The federal delegation described the deceased athletes and officials as heroes who represented their state with pride and paid the ultimate price in the line of service to sports and national unity.
