2026 World Cup Qualifier: Super Eagles Arrive South Africa for Crucial Clash with Bafana Bafana
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have arrived in South Africa ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Bafana Bafana.
A total of 22 players made the trip following the injury setback to forward Victor Osimhen, who sustained a chin injury during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda’s Amavubi at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday.
Osimhen, 26, is expected to return to Turkey for further treatment and will miss Tuesday’s qualifier at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein.
Nigeria, managed by Finidi George, will be aiming for a vital win to boost their qualification hopes. Opponents South Africa, coached by Eric Chelle, currently top Group C with 16 points from seven matches, while the Super Eagles are third with 10 points.
Kick-off is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
