Morocco Announces Nine Stadiums For AFCON 2025 Tournament

Morocco, the host nation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has revealed the 9 stadiums that will host the tournament matches.

Originally, six stadiums from six cities—Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Marrakech, Casablanca, and Fez—were selected.

However, the number of venues has now been expanded to nine, marking a historic first for the competition, as reported by Moroccan media.

Three new stadiums have been added in the capital, Rabat. These include the Stade Moulay Hassan (12,000 seats), Stade al Barid, and Stade du Fath Union Sport, both with a capacity of 15,000 spectators.

These new additions complement the already established venues, such as the state-of-the-art Moulay Abdellah Complex (the largest stadium in Rabat), the Grand Stade de Tangier, Grand Stade d’Agadir, Grand Stade de Marrakech, Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca, and the Fez Sports Complex.

Thanks to this infrastructure expansion, AFCON 2025 will feature a significant milestone—two consecutive matches will no longer be played on the same pitch on the same day, a first in the history of the tournament.
