The 10-member Committee established by the senate to engage with the Attorney General of the Federation and other key Government officials to iron out the contentious areas in the tax Reform bills had its first interface on Monday.
Indications from the meeting chaired by Senator Abba Moro, indicates that the Senate is on the verge of holding a public hearing on the Tax Reform Bills, with an aim of presenting them for a third reading and eventual passage.
Speaking to newsmen after a closed door meeting with key Government officials Senator Moro stated that significant progress had been made. He assured that the committee will carry out its duty diligently and ensure the bills are in the interest of all Nigerians.
Chairman, FIRS, Zacch Adedeji expressed optimism that the bill will see the light of the day, noting that all the gray areas have been identified and discussed.
