Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the ongoing 2025 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, following a 2-2 draw against Kenya’s Rising Stars in their final Group B fixture on Wednesday.
The result sees the seven-time champions finish second in the group with five points—two behind leaders Morocco, who sealed top spot after a convincing 3-1 win over Tunisia in the group’s other encounter.
Despite twice trailing in the game, the Flying Eagles fought back with resilience to earn the crucial point needed to progress. Their efforts ensure continued participation in the tournament, with the team now set to face the second-placed side in Group C.
While Morocco will remain in Cairo for their quarter-final clash against Group A’s runner-up, Nigeria will travel to Ismailia for their showdown on Monday. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM local time (1:00 PM Nigerian time) and will be the first of the quarter-final matchups.
The Flying Eagles, coached by Ladan Bosso, will be looking to add to their illustrious history in the competition, having previously won the tournament a record seven times.
