Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Galatasaray attacker Victor Osimhen is set to be out for two weeks.
The Nigerian International was in action for the Red and Blood on Sunday and he even scored the second goal to propel the team to a 2-3 away win against Sivasspor.
He underwent an MRI examination on Monday afternoon, and it was confirmed that he’s having moderate strain and bleeding in his right upper back muscle.
Meanwhile, Napoli director Giovanni Manna has dismissed reports of a January move for Victor Osimhen, insisting no club has approached them about activating the striker’s €75m release clause.
The Nigeria international has been in impressive form since joining Galatasaray on loan, netting 10 goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
His contributions have helped the Turkish giants maintain a six-point lead at the top of the Super Lig with 38 points from 14 matches.
Recent reports suggested that Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were considering triggering Osimhen’s release clause in January, with PSG reportedly viewing the 25-year-old as a potential solution to their attacking woes under Luis Enrique.
According to RMC Sport journalist Daniel Rioli, PSG’s interest in Osimhen could force French forward Randal Kolo Muani towards the exit door, with RB Leipzig showing interest in the striker who has managed just two goals in 425 minutes this season.
The French champions had previously shown interest in Osimhen, reportedly tabling a €100m bid following his heroics in Napoli’s Serie A triumph last season. They were also linked with the striker last summer as a potential replacement for Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe.
