Ogun LG polls: APC sweeps all 20 chairmanship positions
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the 20 chairmanship positions in Saturday’s local government elections in Ogun State.
The Chairman of the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC), Babatunde Osibodu made the declaration Sunday at the Commission’s headquarters in Abeokuta.
He announced that the candidates of the APC won the 20 chairmanship positions and 236 councillorship positions.
According to Osibodu, a total of 613,156 votes were cast in the Chairmanship elections across the 20 local government areas.
He noted that the elections saw participation from 19 political parties including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party.
