The Rivers State Police Command says all the eight persons onboard the East Wing Aviation helicopter that crashed Thursday morning in Rivers state are feared dead.
The command public relations officer Grace Iringe koko said in a statement that the incident occurred 11am after the helicopter departed the NAF Base in Port Harcourt.
GRACE KOK added that the flight which was bound for Nuim Antan OML123 fields, with two crew members and six passengers reportedly ditched into the ocean near Antan Producing Limited’s Mimbo platform and FPSO.
The statement further explained that the Marine Division of the Rivers State Police Command is cooperating with other agencies to recover the aircraft and the occupants.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo confirmed the incident in a Press release.
