October 1 Planned Protest: Ogun Police Appeal To Residents

The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria police force has appealed to residents to jettison plans to embark on another round of National protest planned for October 1st being Independence Day.

Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu made the appeal during a meeting with security chiefs on Sunday at the state command of the force where he revealed intelligence report suggesting that some persons are planning a disruption of the Independence day anniversary.

In attendance at the meeting are all security chiefs in the state led by the Police, Army, Department of state security, DSS, Civil Defense, Amotekun, Immigration, NDLEA and other security stakeholders among others with a simple message appealing to the youths and residents to shun any form of protest on October first.

The security stakeholders while acknowledging the that Ogun State has enjoyed relative peace overtime however appealed to governments at all levels to do more to alleviate the poor living standard of Nigerians.

The meeting aims to put last minute measures in place ahead of the independence day anniversary with a view to forestalling actions that could potentially threaten peace and stability in the state.
