Supplementary Budget Passes Second Reading at senate

A bill for an Act to issue the sum of Two Hundred and Eighty-Eight Billion Naira from the Federal Capital Territory Administration Account to accommodate additional inflows from Internally Generated Revenues and other related matters, 2024, scaled second reading at the floor of the senate.

Leading a debate on the bill, the Leader of the Senate, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele stated that the Supplementary appropriation act is aimed at consolidating the magnitude and scope of undergoing projects within the Federal Capital Territory.

Other lawmakers in their contributions supported the passage of the bill for second reading while urging for the judicious usage of the fund.

The Deputy President of the Senate who Presided over the Plenary, Commended the FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike for improving the revenue generation of the federal capital territory, urging other Ministers, Department and Agencies (MDAs) to follow suit.
