How Dubois Kos Joshua

How Dubois Kos Joshua

Daniel Dubois came to defend his IBF belt against Anthony Joshua Saturday night and he did it in style.

He made Joshua looked like a jellyfish as he pushed the former unified champion around with his powers.

Dubois’ game-plan worked so effectively that Joshua had no answer than to be clinching and running round the ring for the first four rounds.

And in the fifth round when he came out to fight, a devastating hook from a defensive Dubois found his jaw, boom!!!, the British-Nigerian hit the canvas and couldn’t beat the count.

I can’t still explain what happened to Joshua against a less tactical, less experienced and a less powerful Dubois on a day he had a record to make.

Dream of becoming a three-time heavyweight champion disappeared in a jiffy.

Every Dubois jab moves Joshua. He began to slip and fall from round one up until round four and staggered like a drunk on Saturday night.

Something is wrong with Joshua’s mind. 70 per cent of analysts and boxing legends gave it to him before Saturday’s night of Riyadh Season at Wembley but Dubois surprised them all as he gave one of his best performances to keep his belt.

We all wrote Dubois off against Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Joshua but this young Briton changed the narrative. He said it was his turn to shine and so he is doing just that.

He said he would retire Joshua and I think he had shown that to the world. He had improved so much after losing to Oleksandr Usyk.

However, that he will continue to act professionally and roll the dice again, was the only statement that Joshua could mutter after his defeat.

For me, Joshua needs more than tactics and powers now if he must do boxing. This art encompasses not just the skillset but a healthy mindset.

Joshua of Saturday’s night is the same Joshua that fought Andy Ruiz Jr a few years ago. So amateurish with unstable mind.
