Asisat Oshoala will tonight face off against former FC Barcelona Femení teammates when Bay FC host the Catalans in an international friendly starting at 7:00 p.m. PayPal Park.
This is the first time the record six-time African Women’s Player of the Year will be trading tackles with her immediate past club since joining the NWSL side in February.
It promises to be an enthralling encounter as Oshoala and her Bay FC teammates take on back-to-back Champions League winners, who are visiting the USA for the third time. They come off a perfect season, where they won Liga F, the Copa de la Reina, and the UEFA Champions League, and saw midfield star Aitana Bonmatí winning the Ballon d’Or Fémenin.
Oshoala and other Bay FC stars will bring their own accolades to the field, including multiple NWSL championships, FA Women’s Super League titles, Liga F titles, and more, setting the stage for an iconic battle of elite talent.
Oshoala, 29, had an immensely successful spell at Barcelona, scoring 85 goals in 101 matches between 2019 and 2024 and winning five Primera División, three UEFA Women’s Champions League, four Supercopa de España Femenina, three Copa de la Reina, and one Copa Catalunya title.
